Diamond Hawks Baseball High School Showcase Teams
Diamond Hawks Baseball strives to provide the elite high school player with the most competitive schedule that will help them achieve their goal of playing college or professional baseball. Tournaments are selected based on the quality of teams and the amount of exposure the showcase tournament will provide. Mid-week league or non-league games will be against top level teams from the Tri State area. Workouts start in January until the start of high school practice and pick up again in mid April.

ABOUT HEAD COACH SCOTT RUSSO
Scott is a 1996 graduate of Washington Township High School where he was a 3 year starter. As a Team Captain in ’96, he was named team MVP, First Team All-South Jersey and New Jersey All-State.
Scott attended Penn State University from 1997-2000 where he was utilized as both a starting pitcher and reliever. A left hander, Russo led the team in appearances and saves in 2000. Penn State was Northeast Region Champs in 2000, advancing to the Super Regionals. He also spent two summers during college playing for the West Deptford Storm of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League and the Delaware Cows (Columbus, OH) of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.
In 2000, Scott was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 26th round. He played in the minor leagues until finishing his career in 2003.

ABOUT HEAD COACH ROY PRICE
Diamond Turf Baseball is proud to announce that Roy Price will be the Head Coach of the Diamond Hawks 15U Showcase Team. Roy was an all-region catcher for Camden County College in ’95 and ’96 and was selected the Div. II JUCO 1996 player of the year. He then took his talents to Rowan where he was the starting catcher for the 1997-98 seasons.
Roy has been coaching at the youth baseball level for many years. His 13U travel team was runner-up at the Babe Ruth regional finals in 2009. They were the NJ state champs for Babe Ruth and American Legion. |

ABOUT HEAD COACH NICK SBARRA
Nick graduated from Washington Township High School in 2003 after an outstanding senior season. Nick was selected 1st Team All-Olympic Conference, 1st team All-Area, 1st Team All-Group IV, and 2nd Team All-South Jersey. In addition, Nick was selected to play in the Carpenter Cup.
After high school, Sbarra continued his career at Ramapo College from 2005-2008. As a freshman, Nick was named Team Rookie of the Year. In 2007 Nick was named NJAC 1st Team All-Conference, ABCA 1st Team All-State, ABCA 2nd Team All-Region, and Mid-Atlantic Region 2nd Team. In 2008, Nick was named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team and was the NJAC Coaches MVP. Nick was the national Division III leader in triples (#4 nationally in all divisions). In 2009 Nick signed with the Cincinnati Reds to play professional baseball in Italy.
