About Us
Mission StatementTo provide intensive instruction and an opportunity to compete at a higher level for players that are more serious students of the game. The goal of Diamond Hawks Baseball is to develop the skills of our players which will enable them to earn a spot on their high school team and subsequently go on to play at the college level and beyond should they desire, just like all of our instructors. To reach this goal, our top rated staff will continue to provide coaching and instruction to our players, giving them the necessary tools, and transferring the knowledge of how to play the game. |

Candi Dean A former standout softball player at West Chester University, Coach Dean is entering her fifth season as the Head Softball Coach at St. Joseph H.S. in Hammonton, NJ. She has led the team to 4 consecutive Cape Atlantic League National Conference and Division 2 Titles (2006,2007,2008, 2009) Coaching honors also include Coach of the Year in 2008 by the Atlantic City Press, Coach of the Year in 2007 by the South Jersey Girls Softball Coaches Association, Team of the Year 2007 by the Philadelphia Inquirer and Atlantic City Press, Team of the Year 2008 and 2009 by the Atlantic City Press. Coach Dean is a 1999 St. Joseph H.S. graduate. During her Softball career, she was a 4 year varsity letter winner, braking the hits, triples, homeruns, and extra base hits records. Coach Dean achieved over 100 hits in her career, while leading the 1998 Lady Wildcats to a Non Public South B Sectional Title. In 1999 she was named Softball Player of the Year by the Atlantic City Press. She was a 1st Team All Star for South Jersey, Non Public, and C.A.L. Coach Dean was recently inducted into the St. Joseph High School Athletic Hall of Fame. |

Fred Bianculli, Jr.
Freddy is a 1983 graduate of Washington Township High School where he participated in baseball, wrestling and football - earning a total of six varsity letters. Freddy B., as he is known by most, was All Olympic Conference in baseball in 1982 and 1983. In his senior year he was first team All Group IV and All South Jersey. He was Captain and Most Valuable Player on the 1983 team. In addition to baseball, Freddy was captain of the 1982-83 wrestling squad and was All Conference in 1982. In 1983 Freddy was All Conference and All Group IV as a kicker on the football team. Following high school, Freddy attended Glendale Community College in Arizona. He was honored by being selected to the baseball First Team-All Arizona in 1985, an All Conference selection and Most Valuable Player. Freddy then transferred back to Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) where he was All Conference and All District for two years and All State for one year. Team-All - American and New Jersey College Player of the Year. Fred was the MVP on the NJAC Championship Team.
Freddy previously has been an instructor at the Bill Robinson Hitting Clinics for 5 years. In 2002, Freddy B. was inducted into the Washington Township High School Sports Hall of Fame. |

Scott Russo
Scott is a 1996 graduate of Washington Township High School where he was a 3 year starter. As a Team Captain in ’96, he was named team MVP, First Team All-South Jersey and New Jersey All-State. Scott attended Penn State University from 1997-2000 where he was utilized as both a starting pitcher and reliever. A left hander, Russo led the team in appearances and saves in 2000. Penn State was Northeast Region Champs in 2000, advancing to the Super Regionals. He also spent two summers during college playing for the West Deptford Storm of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League and the Delaware Cows (Columbus, OH) of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. In 2000, Scott was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 26th round. He played in the minor leagues until finishing his career in 2003.

Nick Sbarra
Nick graduated from Washington Township High School in 2003 after an outstanding senior season. Nick was selected 1st Team All-Olympic Conference, 1st team All-Area, 1st Team All-Group IV, and 2nd Team All-South Jersey. In addition, Nick was selected to play in the Carpenter Cup. After high school, Sbarra continued his career at Ramapo College from 2005-2008. As a freshman, Nick was named Team Rookie of the Year. In 2007 Nick was named NJAC 1st Team All-Conference, ABCA 1st Team All-State, ABCA 2nd Team All-Region, and Mid-Atlantic Region 2nd Team. In 2008, Nick was named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team and was the NJAC Coaches MVP. Nick was the national Division III leader in triples (#4 nationally in all divisions). In 2009 Nick signed with the Cincinnati Reds to play professional baseball in Italy. Nick is currently the Assistant Baseball Coach for Rowan University.

Roy Price
Roy was an all-region catcher for Camden County College in ’95 and ’96 and was selected the Div. II JUCO 1996 player of the year. He then took his talents to Rowan where he was the starting catcher for the 1997-98 seasons. Roy has been coaching at the youth baseball level for many years. His 13U travel team was runner-up at the Babe Ruth regional finals in 2009. They were the NJ state champs for Babe Ruth and American Legion. Roy is also the Head Coach of the Diamond Hawks 15U showcase team. |

Matt Gabirelski
Matt was a standout player for St.Joe’s high school in Hammonton attaining All South Jersey second team status, all C.A.L. first team, and a Carpenter Cup selection in 2004. Matt’s college career includes stints with St. Joe's University and Rutgers-Camden. In 2004, he was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Role and in 2008 he led his team in most conference offensive categories including batting average, OBP, RBIs, walks, and runs scored. Matt is currently the assistant coach of the Diamond Hawks Baseball 17/18U high school showcase team. |
